Project Overview
Balance Solar financed a 945 kW DC rooftop solar installation for Community High School District 218's Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Illinois. The system covers multiple sections of the school building and produces approximately 1,269,000 kilowatt hours of renewable energy each year.
District 218 signed a PPA with Balance Solar and received approval for an SREC contract through the State of Illinois via the Illinois Solar for All program. The PPA provides electricity savings to the school for the duration of the system's lifespan.
The installation serves as an example of how K-12 educational institutions can integrate solar energy into their facilities through Illinois' clean energy programs.
